The screening celebrates International Animation Day, which is celebrated worldwide on October 28. On that day in 1892 Emile Reynaud presented a moving picture to the public for the first time at the Theater Optique in Paris.
This year, Finnish Animation Guild celebrates International Animation Day on Thursday 24 October. At the free screening at Arthouse Cinema Niagara in Tampere. The screening is organized in cooperation with the international animation organization ASIFA (Association Internationale du Film d’Animation). The show offers the audience a unique opportunity to get to know inventive and skillful short animations from around the world. The show is free and is compiled from animations from ASIFA member countries. The selections have been made by the Animation Guild’s board.
The screening is presented by Albert Laine, chairman of Finnish Animation Guild, and a video greeting from Deanne Morse, chairman of ASIFA, is shown at the beginning.
The screening has an age limit K18
